The DeMarini 2012 Vexxum BBCOR Baseball Bat models use a technology called Taper Ring. Taper Ring Technology makes the bat adhere to the BBCOR standard, but does not significantly increase the weight towards the end of the bat. DeMarini were able to add the weight closer to the handle where the barrel begins to taper, hence Taper Ring Technology. This allows for an increased sweet spot as well as keeping the swing speed at its fastest.
